My start at HPA began with a trainee programme. Today, I work as a project engineer in metal construction for the new Kattwyk railway bridge. I’m at the construction site quite a lot, but also in the office now and again. What really amazes me are new working methods like digital defects management, which we are using now for the project. I like to grab the bull by the horns and make a difference. That’s what progress is to me.
In the port area, you can experience a lot, for instance the breathtaking view across the entire harbour from the Köhlbrandbrücke. My biggest challenge? In a container village on a construction site, I had to organise space for 12 new employees at the drop of a hat. I asked around and simply did it – successfully. HPA offers a truly diverse range of projects and supports networking.
Help us to throw the unnecessary over board and make space for the new – so that we can let Hamburg grow for the future. We have lots of tradition in store. And have gained a large portion of experience. We bring tradition together with change and continually invent at the same time. Whatever comes our way, we grab the chances today while keeping our sights clearly on tomorrow. We do not offer any short-term solutions, but long-term opportunities. Our structures are designed to last for decades.
For your job, this means:
A total of 1,800 jobs across 7,000 hectares of port space offer the right working field for everyone.
With innovative minds, we are rethinking the port and setting the tone in technology.
Where each individual can let their strengths unfold is where everyone goes further together.
